A very particular character made his live-action debut in The Book Boba Fett series and this may open the door to a crossover between the new Lucasfilm projects and video games.

When Mando seeks help from Peli Motto for his new ship, he too receives support from a small droid in the workshop, BD. This cameo that surely went unnoticed by many can be very important.

BD-1 appears in the 2019 award-winning game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developed by Respawn Entertainment. He is the inseparable companion of Jedi Cal Kestis who escaped Order 66. The BD droid unit found by Din Djarin on Tatooine is of the same model and, although not confirmed, could be the same robot.

BD-1 accompanied Jedi Master Eno Cordova during the final years of the Galactic Republic. After Order 66 and the rise of the Galactic Empire, the droid befriended Cal Kestis, played by Cameron Monaghan in the game, a former Padawan who worked to rebuild the fallen Jedi Order.

BD-1 is quite a useful droid in this adventure, as he can scan objects, create a database, manipulate doors and control panels, and has a compartment where he keeps potions. A sequel to Jedi Fallen Order was recently announced, so we may find out a lot more about it in the new game.

While this unit may not actually be a BD-1, its appearance suggests that Lucasfilm is looking for opportunities to bring video game characters into live-action projects. Disney has certainly gone to great lengths to bring characters from its animated and comic book properties into live-action, as evidenced by Krrsantan's appearance.

The fact that the show is set decades after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order suggests that it could be the same droid. Since the fate of Cal Kestis has not been revealed, it is entirely possible that an earlier version of Kestis could appear in the Ahsoka Tano series.
