Nene Vasthunna Review: Telugu audience needs no introduction to the hero Dhanush. Because.. despite being a Tamil hero, he got close to the Telugu audience through dubbing movies. However... Dhanush, who recently received a blockbuster with the movie Thiru.. has recently come in front of the audience with the movie 'Nene Aayna'.
This is the fourth movie made by the Dhanush-director Selvaraghavan combination. The makers of this movie, which has already set expectations with the trailer and songs, did not promote it much. It is known that Dhanush has played a dual role in the psychological thriller movie 'Nene Aayna'. And let's see how this movie is in the review!
Story:
This movie, made in the psycho-thriller genre, mainly revolves around two twin brothers named Prabhu and Kadir. Dhanush acted in both these roles. However... Prabhu is decent from childhood and Kadir behaves like a psycho. As a result, Kadir is estranged from his family and grows up alone. If cut... Prabhu will be happy with his wife and daughter while doing a job. In this sequence, Prabhu suddenly sees an unexpected change in his daughter's behavior.
She talks to someone at night. If you find out who it is, you will know a shocking twist about Kadir. Is the psycho Kadir still alive who left at such a young age? Who talks to Prabhu's daughter at night? What is the flashback between Prabhu and Kadir? Why did Kadir become a psycho? What happened in the end.. is to be seen on the screen.

Analysis:
After a hit like Thiru, why did the makers not do much promotions for the movie in both Tamil and Telugu? But because of the Dhanush – Selvaraghavan combination, the movie created a positive buzz among the people. In the past, blockbuster movies like Pudupettai, Kaadhal Konden, and Mayakkam Enna in the Dhanush and Selvaraghavan combo were considered classic.
That way... Now Nene is coming and the movie is also thought to be another blockbuster. But.. why the makers did not take this movie to the masses even during its release.
Coming to the point.. the correct title of this movie is Nene Aannu.. but it seems that the makers have not got enough stuff for the movie. And Dhanush's fight in the roles of twin brothers Prabhu and Kadir was not enough. The director started this movie with very engaging narration and visuals.
Because... Psycho is an action thriller... The way the main characters and the story are introduced in the starting is very interesting. In the first half, Prabhu and Kadir's family life was shown until Kadir became a psycho.. After 20 years, it was shown that Prabhu is married, and has a wife and a daughter. From there the real story begins.
Until the interval, the director guided the story interestingly around the characters of Prabhu's family, daughter Satya, and psychiatrist. And with the twist revealed in the interval, the audience's interest in the second half will increase. In the second half, Prabhu will face unexpected challenges through his daughter. Because.. the change in the daughter's behavior has already brought her to a life-threatening condition. With this, Prabhu is ready to take any risk for his daughter. If you cut it, it will be revealed who the daughter talks to at night. Aside from who it is... Prabhu's twist about Brother Kadir will surprise everyone.
An otherwise dark thriller and psycho genre movie should have an engaging screenplay from first to last. Director Selvaraghavan hesitated in this matter. One gets the feeling of watching a drama. Coming to the climax when Prabhu and Kadir meet, the scene there is not more interesting... but.. in the end, who won between Prabhu and Kadir? It is noteworthy that it ends ambiguously without giving clarity. Many logics missing in this movie. The director made Prabhu's character soft and Kadir's character rough. But.. the strength, background, and back story of the psycho character are not shown properly.

Along with Prabhu, Kadir is married and has two sons, Sonu and Manu.. They are also twins. For those children.. the way Prabhu's daughter is linked to Satya.. also causes confusion as to where the original story goes from. In the end, showing it as a regular psycho revenge thriller is not a big deal. It is actually a dark movie... if Hollywood-style drama is maintained in it.. there is a possibility that the audience who wants a thrill will find it boring.
It must be said that the entire second half of this movie went well. Even though the storyline is weak, Yuvan Shankar Raja has tried to elevate the film with the background music. Especially in Veera Sura song, intense background music is interesting. Technically I was coming but everything went well. Om Prakash's camera work is very good. Especially dark shots, Ooty atmosphere, and close-up shots are captured very well.
And Dhanush did justice to both the characters. But.. it is true that those characters are not enough for Dhanush's talent. The director could not get a new emotion and angle from Dhanush. Induja and Elli Avram are perfect as Dhanush's wife in the movie. The performance of the child artists is good. Director Selvaraghavan will be seen in the film Dutta. But.. it has to be said that he failed to thrill the audience. And the production values in the movie are rich.
