Apparently, the Netflix series has been renewed for other episodes inspired by the comic of the same name.

The Sandman is a television work conceived by Neil Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg, inspired by the comic of the same name by Gaiman that recently arrived on the small screen of Netflix, with great success from critics and audiences. In particular, the realization brought in streaming the first two volumes of the graphic novel with some stories also coming from the third anthological volume.

Well, the triumph of the show is to be found in the incredible ability to adapt and reinvent the original material, with totally innovative casting, many brilliant narrative choices, and much more. After this triumph, it should come as no surprise that there was talk of a second season several times, even if until a few hours there was actually no official status.

The Sandman arrived on Netflix on August 5, 2022

Gaiman himself, in fact, has repeatedly explained that a continuation of The Sandman would not have been taken for granted and seen and given that the entire first season had really cost a lot to the multinational of international streaming. That said, as reported to CBR, luckily we've actually found out there will be a second season.

The One Take News site, directly on its Twitter page, showed a tweet, now deleted, of the DC account that had revealed the official status of the new episodes. It is not known why it was actually taken down, but it was probably put online by mistake.

One thing is certain: we finally know that The Sandman will go on and honestly, considering the incredible success of the first episodes, we can't wait to continue seeing the adventures of Morpheus (Tom Sturridge) on Netflix. The work, produced by The Blank Corporation, Phantom Four, Purepop Inc., DC Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Television, arrived on the American streaming platform on August 5, 2022, with an additional episode with two independent stories added on the 19th. August 2022.
