At the Super Bowl 2023 a new preview video of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was presented – which shows us the new war that the Earth will have to face together with the Autobots.
This is the first film in the franchise not to be directed by Michael Bay, who made way for Creed II director Steven Caple Jr. Largely inspired by the story of Beast Wars, as well as being a direct sequel to the 2018 film Bumblebee, the new chapter in the saga revolves around human archaeologists Noah and Elena, played by Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, who discover the existence of Autobots and their battles surrounding three other races of Transformers, the Maximals, the Predacons and the Terrorcons.
The trailer – in collaboration with Porsche – reveals the arrival of Ron Perlman's Optimus Primal, Peter Dinklage's Scourge, Pete Davidson's Mirage (who we could consider the “new Bumblebee”), and Michelle Yeoh's Airazor, among other purebred Autobots Maximals and Terrorcons. Rise of the Beasts takes the Transformers franchise into the 1990s, an unprecedented time for the Paramount saga. The film is officially described thus: “it takes the audience on a globetrotting adventure of the 90s and introduces the Maximals, the Predacons, and the Terrorcons during the battle on Earth between the Autobots and Decepticons”.
Transformers: Rise of The Beasts will be the beginning of a new trilogy, while the eighth and ninth films of the franchise will be released in the next few years. The film is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Duncan Henderson. Entertainment One, Hasbro's entertainment studio, is executive producing, while Skydance and New Republic Pictures co-finance and executive produce. It will arrive in Italian cinemas in June 2023.
