Dungeons & Dragons – Honor Among Thieves is the recent feature film directed by John Francis Daley (Ruin Your Holidays, Geena Davis Show) and Jonathan Goldstein (Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone) which brings to the big screen the well-known role-playing game created in 1974 by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, a very complex and stratified magical fantasy world that had already previously seen the cinema, with a film that was received in a decidedly tragic way. The realization, which these days, unlike its predecessor, has seen excellent results at the box office and by the critics, is full of really funny and humorous scenes that make the project more attractive for everyone.

That said, apparently, one of the most successful humorous scenes of Dungeons & Dragons – Honor among Thieves, was absolutely improvised. We are referring, in particular, to the sequence in which Xenk (Regé-Jean Page) leaves the scene and meets a rock in his path. Edgin (Chris Pine) comments on this, imagining that the hero is going to impact the boulder, but this does not happen. In a recent interview with the film's directors, per Mashable, the pair said it was all accidental because no one had noticed that there was a stone on the ground.
That moment was one of the few things we found that day. We had Regé walking in a straight line away from the scene, and we decided to keep the cameras rolling and see what he would do… We had no idea how Regé would handle the rock. Xenk's walk had us commenting on the topos of the weary hero walking into the sunset and pulling the rug out from the expectation of that topos. We did a lot of alternate jokes with Edgin saying, 'Where is he going? I don't think there's anything on that side.'
We remind you that Dungeons & Dragons – The Honor of the Thieves arrived in Italian cinemas on March 29, 2023 with the distribution by Eagle Pictures and Koch Media.
