House of the Dragon is the recent television series that has rekindled the interest of the general public (and critics) in the world of Game of Thrones after Game of Thrones was closed in 2019, after eight seasons since 2011. In particular, this new show, conceived by George R.R. Martin in the company of Ryan Condal, tells in particular of an event related to the Targaryen Dynasty, about 100 years before the facts seen in GOT, when dragon worshipers were in power. This is the Dance of the Dragons, a real civil war that saw two opposing factions that fought over the dominion of the Seven Kingdoms, represented by the legendary Game of Thrones, in fact.

House of the Dragon is set 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones

House of the Dragon is probably one of the great serial successes of last year, a timeless show that has managed to ride the wave of nostalgia while offering something new and interesting at the same time. Well, despite the positive reception of the realization, there is one Game of Thrones actor who has absolutely no desire to recover the series, at least for the moment. We are talking about Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Against the Ice, The Brotherhood) who embodied the role of Jaime Lannister, a very fascinating character who has entered the hearts of fans rightfully, despite his evil nature.

In a recent interview for Deadline, the same star explained why he has no intention of seeing House of the Dragon and, in reality, it is something very sentimental. “One day it came on and I saw the opening credits. And it was kind of weird because it was the same music and the title sequence was similar. I was like, 'Ah, this is too soon. Too soon'. I'll wait. I'll give it a couple of seasons, then I can watch it non-stop and then there's everything. But I know so many people love that show and I'm really happy for them."
