The Universal film brings to light, in a comic and grotesque way, a well-known character from the mythology of Dracula.

Renfield, strange as it may seem, is definitely a highly anticipated film. This is the feature film, directed by Chris McKay (LEGO Batman – The Movie, Tomorrow's War), which brings to light one of the most interesting characters from Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, who also appeared in many films connected to the book. It is Renfield, a servant of the Count of the Carpathians who, in the original novel, is locked up in a mental asylum but, even if at a distance, continues to have particular contact with the Wallachia vampire. Well, in this new reading, which draws inspiration from an original subject by Robert Kirkman, the context is totally irreverent and humorous, even if violence and blood are not lacking.

Renfield is arriving at the end of April 2023

Among the most striking elements of Renfield, in addition to obviously Nicholas Hoult (X-Men – Days of Future Past, The Favorite) who embodies the protagonist, is Nicolas Cage himself (Wild at Heart, Ghost Rider) who embodies Count Dracula. As recently told by the make-up artist of the film, it was not easy to make up the actor properly and now a video has also arrived to prove it. Directly on the official YouTube channel of Rotten Tomatoes Trailers, in fact, a behind-the-scenes video was shown that sees Cage being continuously followed by a team of artists who work on transforming him, with really interesting and at the same time macabre details.

We remind you that Renfield, produced by SkyBound Entertainment, sees the executive production of Todd Lewis, and Samantha Nisenboim with the distribution of Universal Pictures. The film, written by Ryan Ridley, is arriving precisely in cinemas on April 14, 2023, 13 days after the release of the feature film in American cinemas. The cast also includes Awkafina as Rebecca Quincy, Ben Schwartz as Teddy Lobo, Caroline Williams as Vanessa, and many more.
