Fast X: We're almost there, there are still a few days left, and then fans will be able to return to theaters to exalt themselves with the stunts beyond the human limit that the Fast and Furious saga has been able to offer for twenty years now. Friday 12 May, the world premiere was held in Rome and Vin Diesel seems to have let a colossal spoiler slip away, but apparently the real surprise is within the film itself.
Fast X movie post-credit scenes spoiler warning!
According to what was reported in these hours by The Wrap, in fact, the franchise has a sensational blow in store for its loyal audience or the unexpected return of one of the most famous characters who was not thought to be able to return in the last few films.
We are talking about Luke Hobbs, the all-muscle super-agent played by Dwayne Johnson starting from the fifth film of the saga. Although he was the protagonist of the subsequent films and the so far only spin-off granted to the story of Dominic Toretto and his family, his presence in the post-credit scene of Fast X will come as a shock to many fans.
The reason is the famous feud between the former WWE star and the "master father" of the saga, Vin Diesel. In recent years, the two have not said anything about it and it all started from a post in which Dwayne Johnson pointed the finger at some male members of the cast, accused of being "cowards", "chickens" and "unprofessional". Since then apologies have come from the same interpreter and attempts at clarification, almost all returned to the sender.
The last step was taken by Vin Diesel himself in November 2021: with a post on social media he had openly asked his colleague to put aside his differences and return to the Fast & Furious franchise. “My little brother Dwayne… the time has come. The world awaits the finale of Fast and Furious 10. As you know, in my house my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne» said the star of the saga, thus inviting Hobbs to join the grand finale.
To this appeal, however, Johnson had responded spadely: «I was very surprised. Last June, when Vin and I spoke not via social media, I told him directly and privately that I was not returning to the franchise. I was decisive and in any case cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the case and I would cheer for the success of the franchise, but that there was no possibility of returning» he said, referring then to that video as "manipulative" for the way it brought up the children and also the death of Paul Walker.
However, things apparently have changed and the source reports that at the end of Fast X Hobbs, he makes his sensational and unpredictable return. It is not known at the moment if it is a hit and run (his story is linked to that of the villain played by Jason Momoa, son of the villain of Fast Five) or if we will see him again in the announced next part of Fast X – the second of three according to the spoiler that Vin Diesel let slip.
Fans, what do you think? Would you be happy to see Dwayne Johnson in the most adrenaline-pumping franchise around? Tell us yours, as always, in the comments.
Fast X arrives in cinemas on May 19, 2023.
