Box Office: in Italy, Spider-Man beats the Transformers, but in the USA the big robots win

In the USA, the Transformers beat the Spider-Verse with a debut of 60 million dollars.

After a heated battle at the box office, the Autobots defeat Spider-Man. Overseas Paramount's Transformers: Rise of The Beasts surpassed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, debuting in first place with $60.5 million (from 3,678 theaters). The animated sequel to Sony's Spider-Verse, therefore, has to settle for second place with $55.4 million (from 4,332 theaters). At the US box office, the sequel starring Miles Morales reached 225 million dollars, for a worldwide total of 313 million.

In third place is Disney's live-action The Little Mermaid, which added $22.8 million to its haul. The remake thus reaches 228 million dollars at the domestic box office (414 million at the worldwide box office).


The Italian box office of the week

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse wins by a whisker at the Italian box office. The Sony-branded animated film climbs back to the top of the charts with receipts of almost 937 thousand euros over the weekend and 4.36 thousand euros in two weeks of programming in theaters.

It follows Transformers – Rise of The Beasts, the new chapter with Hasbro robots, which debuts with 1 million 134 thousand euros in just six days in theaters. The Little Mermaid slips from the top to third place with 894,000 euros over the weekend (for a total of 10,104,300 euros).

Fast X, the tenth chapter of the automotive franchise starring Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa, falls from third to fourth place, with a weekly collection of 449,215 (252,000 in the last weekend) and a total of 11,392,000 euros in 4 weeks of programming in theaters. The new and acclaimed film by Marco Bellocchio, the dramatic Kidnapped, remains in the top 5 with another 160,000 euros (for a total of 1,333,500 euros in twenty days).
