Extraction 2
Extraction 2: Extraction is an action feature film directed by Sam Hargrave, in his directorial debut, which has the ambition of launching a new action saga on the big screen between chases, fisticuffs, and fights to the death with the famous Chris Hemsworth (Thor, 7 strangers at El Royale) to embody the protagonist, or Tyler Rake, a mercenary who takes on a very delicate mission: to keep the son of a drug lord under his protection and bring him to safety to his father. Clearly, this whole undertaking is not at all simple, and at the end of the first film, our hero's condition is not exactly positive.
Extraction 2 is coming June 16, 2023
Here, however, in Extraction 2, Hemsworth's fighter seems to have recovered in a big way, as we have seen in the trailer and in the archive images. In a recent interview with Hargrave, who also directed this sequel, the filmmaker exclusively told Screen Rant about his relationship with Marvel, explaining that he has several ideas for the MCU.
“Would I direct a Marvel movie? I would definitely consider this possibility. The closest I've gotten into that kind of Marvel/Disney world is helping them down there, and in talks to do some things, with The Mandalorian and some of those seasons, maybe direct some of them. It just failed for several reasons, but I haven't been contacted directly. But I would like to talk to him and sit down and find – the important thing for me would be to find a character that I can have a specific and unique point of view on.
I wouldn't just rehash, because they did such a great job, that film canon that they created is so classic, you should have something additive to bring to that world that was special and unique. Otherwise, I'd just say don't even touch it. But that said, I have some ideas and I'd love to talk to him, so if you're listening, Marvel, my phone number is – no, just kidding. [Laughs] I'm not going to release it yet. I'll keep it close to the vest, but you guys would definitely know about it if it ever comes to light. Guys, you'll be the first to know."
