The project is still shrouded in mystery

Knives Out is one of those sagas that has shocked the world of cinema in an unexpected way: we are talking about a franchise directed and written entirely by Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Looper) which launched for the first time in 2019, with Cena con delitto – Knives Out, a thriller in full Agatha Christie style that is decidedly very intriguing and shrewd with Daniel Craig embodying the protagonist Detective or Benoit Blanc. The project, which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, was a triumph for audiences and critics with Netflix which, sensing the takings, gave Johnson himself the opportunity to continue the saga with his support.
So here, in 2022, Glass Onion – Knives Out arrived, the sequel, which has once again turned the cards upside down: Blanc is always present but with a sudden change of cast and setting. A decidedly very intelligent idea which, however, was not particularly appreciated by all, with many who, on the contrary, preferred the first much more. Regardless of this, the feature film is one of Netflix's most-watched content, testifying that it has somehow made its way.
At the moment, in reality, not much is known about Knives Out 3, which should arrive in 2024, but which is still totally shrouded in mystery. The filmmaker has made it known that he wants to reinvent the formula once again while leaving some elements unchanged. In all this, one of the actresses of the second film or Janelle Monáe (Little Numbers, Antebellum), who embodied the double role of Cassandra “Andy” Brand / Helen Brand, in an interview for Entertainment Tonight Canada, explained that she would be interested in returning to the third chapter, except that Johnson will change the cast again as previously done.
“I would be honored [to do Knives Out 3]. But Rian [Johnson] isn't going to pick you if you've already done "Knives Out" with the exception of Daniel Craig, because it has to be Detective Benoit Blanc coming in. Maybe I'll get some plastic surgery and become a new actor and then I'll audition and then I'll take it. I love those murder mysteries.”
