Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning

Mission: Impossible is one of the most important action sagas of recent years of cinema. It all began way back in 1996, when Brian De Palma (The Phantom of the Stage, Scarface) launched the first, iconic chapter on the big screen which was a huge success at the box office, starting with the idea of transposing the homonymous series Bruce Geller's television series, which aired for seven seasons from 1966 to 1973. Subsequently, the saga was taken over by other filmmakers, in particular John Woo, J.J. Abrams, Brad Bird, and finally, Christopher McQuarrie (Top Gun: Maverick, Edge of Tomorrow) who managed the film series from the fifth film onwards.

Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning – Part One is arriving on July 12, 2023, in cinemas

Finally, with the seventh chapter, or Mission: Impossible Dead ReckoningPart One, we saw the return of the legendary Tom Cruise (Eyes Wide Shut, Interview with the Vampire) in the role of special agent Ethan Hunt in what seemed to be one of the last pieces of the saga, waiting for Part Two arriving in 2024. During the premiere in the Capital, however, as reported by CBR, it seems that McQuarrie himself has other plans for the future of the franchise.

The filmmaker has in fact explained that they are already thinking about another sequel, it being understood that he has not expressed himself on the presence or absence of Cruise as the protagonist. What to say? It seems that the production still wants to have its feet firmly planted in the series (also because let's not forget that Tom himself is one of the producers).

We remind you that Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning – Part One is arriving in Italian cinemas on July 12, 2023, with the production entrusted to TC Productions and the executive production of David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Tommy Gormley. The cast, however, also sees the presence of Hailey Atwell in the part of Grace, Ving Rhames in the role of Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg who plays Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson in the features of Ilsa Faust, and many others.
