tar Wars is one of the most important universes in the history of the entertainment world, a very vast and rich world which, even though it has been some time since its big screen debut, which dates back to 1977 with A New Hope, still has a lot to say, although the Skywalker saga didn't end in the best way. One of the most iconic characters of the franchise is certainly Luke Skywalker who has always seen Mark Hamill (Kingsman – Secret Service, Village of the Damned) interpret him, even if lately the actor has explained that he is ready to say goodbye to the Jedi warrior considering that he thinks the time is ripe to abandon this figure.

Star Wars was born in 1977 with A New Hope

In reality, the Star Wars saga has already parked Luke, making him disappear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), even if we have recently seen him again, in a young version, in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, with Hamill who, however, played the character assisted by deep fake technology that rejuvenated him. Here is a recent interview for CBS Sunday Morning, the star explained his position on the matter in more detail, however revealing that he is ready for a possible call in case Lucasfilm still wants him back in the franchise.

“I've had my time, and that's good. But that's enough. Well, never say never. I just don't see any reason to do this. Put it this way: I mean, they have so many stories to tell that they don't need Luke anymore."

We remind you that the world of Star Wars has been expanding a lot in recent years with many television series that are populating the small screen including live-action series such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett, the aforementioned The Mandalorian, Andor, and Ahsoka (coming soon) and also animated ones like Clone Wars, Rebels, The Bad Batch, Visions and so much more.
