One Piece: Netflix has just released the official trailer of the live-action adaptation of One Piece, the famous manga by Eiichiro Oda which is already a historical anime. One of the main complaints made by fans about the previous teaser trailer was that it didn't show anything from the series, but here they will have to change their minds because this preview, shown at San Diego Comic-Con, gives so many glimpses at the highly anticipated adaptation, arriving on the streaming platform on August 31st.

We could better see Luffy's powers in action and a good number of inhabitants of East Blue, where the first part of the manga is set. Plus, the trailer gives us a better look at Buggy, Alvida, Garp, Koby, Arlong… and even the Pirate King himself, Gol D. Roger.

We will have to wait until August 31st to see the complete season with the final result, but for now, the CGI effects promise much more than what was shown in the previous teaser. Sure, One Piece still has that fairground cosplay aftertaste, but considering the original style of the manga, they did a great job with the fishermen and other characters, instead of just recreating them with bad CGI.

Eiichiro Oda himself is confident in the work done by Netflix. The mangaka was very involved in the production of the series and ensured that One Piece would not come out until everything was to his liking. So now we just have to wait and get ready to start the journey of the Straw Hat Crew all over again!

The story follows a boy named Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) who possesses the ability to stretch his body as if it were made of rubber, and who travels with a group of friends, called the Straw Hat Crew, in search of a treasure known as the One Piece, which would make him the king of the pirates.
