Ramam Raghavam Movie Review: Dhanraj, who is well-known as a comedian, turned director and directed the film ‘Ramam Raghavam’. Dhanraj and Samudrakhani play the lead roles, while Harish Uttam, Satya, Pramodini, Prithviraj, Sunil, Moksha and others play other roles.
Ramam Raghavam is produced by Prithvi Polavarapu under the banner of Slate Pencil Stories and directed by Dhanraj. It will be released in Telugu and Tamil on February 21. The premiere show was held before the media with confidence in the film. How is this film? How much did it impress the audience? Let's see in the review now.
Ramam Raghavam Movie Story:
Dasaratha Ramam (Samudra Khani) from Amalapuram is an employee in the Registrar's Office. He lives by changing ethics and honesty into his family name, but he has only one flaw. His son Raghava (Dhanraj) is not educated, cooks, and runs around irresponsibly, drinking and gambling.
Despite his love for his son, Raghava tries to get him out of the way with anger. The distance between father and son has increased, and Raghava wants his father, Dasharatha, to kill Rama. Why did Raghava want to kill his own father? How did he convince his acquaintance Deva (Harish Uttam) to kill his father? To know how far the son's attempts to kill his father went, you have to watch the movie on the big screen.
Ramam Raghavam Movie Analysis:
If you think this is a traditional movie after seeing the title Ramam Raghavam, you are in for a shock. What consequences will happen if a father like Rama gives birth to a son like a demon? How many twists and turns did the father go through for that son? In the end, what sacrifices was he prepared to make for that son? This story has been written with the line:
In fact, it is a big adventure to bring such a story to the audience. Because if it is told convincingly to the audience, it is okay, otherwise it is a story that has a high chance of being missed. However, Dhanraj, who became a director and tried to bring the story written by the director of Vimana to the audience, succeeded to a large extent.
In fact, we keep seeing in the news that a father was killed or a mother was killed for property. But what if a son is ready to kill a father who was raised by his mother for property? What if the father knew about it in advance? The story written with the point is interesting. First of all, the film is in an attempt to establish the characters of Ramam Raghavam.
Right in the interval block, it is as if everyone is given a small glimpse as the son prepares to kill his father. Perhaps he said it in anger, would anyone want to kill a father who loves him so much? The audience feels the character of Raghava. However, even after the second half begins, the audience is waiting in the hope that he will back down from killing the father at some point.
That doesn't happen, right? The way the climax was written is shocking to everyone. However, writing that climax differently from what the audience expected is a kind of daring step taken by the director. However, although this is Dhanraj's first attempt as a director, he tried to score 100% marks in everything from lighting to frames to the performance of the actors without compromising on technical aspects.
However, he stumbled in establishing the love between the father and son and also in fully establishing the reason why there is such a distance between them. If he had taken care of that matter, the result of the film would have been different. In fact, we keep seeing the character Raghava becoming stupid, but there are some mistakes in the way he establishes the reason for his change.
That is why even though the decision is made to kill his father, for some reason the emotion does not feel worked out. That is why even though there is a shock element in the climax, it is not felt to the full extent. However, Dhanraj should be praised for bringing a good story to the audience.
Actors Performance:
Samudrakhani did not act in the role of a father, he lived it. In fact, he is playing the role of a father to a mischievous son, which is reminiscent of Dhanush's VIP movie. But he succeeded in acting without those shades anywhere. As usual, Dhanraj shocked everyone who thought he would appear in a comedy role and impressed everyone in a role with negative shades.
The way he got into his role, making you feel pity once and hate again, is good. Harish Uttamman got a good role in Telugu after a long time. Satya tried to make you laugh here and there. I don't understand why the heroine role is there. Maybe her scenes were cut in the editing.
Prithvi's role tried to show some impact in the film but Sunil's role also feels very limited for some reason. When it comes to the technical team, the cinematographer succeeded in making the film look beautiful. If you look at some of the frame settings, he took care not to give the feeling of watching a short film anywhere.
It would have been better if Arun had focused more on the background score, which has good music. The art department's performance is seen to be appropriate for the film. The editor was successful in making the length match the film. The production values are good.
